Bradford to host Free Community Shred Day

Dear Friend,

In partnership with the Norristown Police Department, I'm writing to invite you to my upcoming Free Community Shred Day, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 26 at my office, 1846 Markley St. in Norristown.

Residents and businesses can stop by to safely dispose of confidential documents. Doing so will protect your privacy and prevent the threat of identity theft!

Please don't hesitate to contact me with questions about this, or any state-related issue.

Warmest regards,

Norristown Preservation Society

The Norristown Preservation Society is again sponsoring a cleanup/Open House at the Selma Mansion.  Last time there were quite a few WE members there and a lot of work was done.  Let's do what we can to help NPS and preserve the mansion.  A flyer about it is attached including some interesting history facts.

It will take place on July 24, 2010 from 10:30am to 3pm (you don't have to be there the whole time) at the mansion, 1301 W Airy St, Norristown.  If you want to join the effort, please contact Russell Rubert at 610-265-2645 or email him at ruberto53@comcast.net.

 Hope to see you there--

Fourth of July Parade!!

Norristown is once again holding their annual July 4th parade.  This year it will be on Saturday, July 3, 2010 from 10:30am to whenever starting from Main and DeKalb and going to the ballfields in Elmwood Park.  West End Association participated in it last year and we had a blast.  If you are interested in marching along with the group, please contact Olivia Brady at olivia.e.brady@gmail.com so you can be on the list.  She has the entry form and will be completing it and sending it in. The deadline for the entry is June 8, 2010, so we have a little time, but please let her know no later than 5/15 so that she has plenty of time to organize the participants for the group.

Welcome! The Freecycle Network™ is made up of 4,885 groups with 7,017,000 members across the globe. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer (them's good people). Membership is free. To sign up, find your community by entering it into the search box above or by clicking on “Browse Groups” above the search box. Have fun!  http://freecycle.org http://freecycle.org

Local groups include: Norristown, King of Prussia and Collegeville.  The site brings you to Yahoo where you need to set up an email account (for free).  For security issues, you do not need to use your real name as your email name.
You can become members of just one location or more. It depends on how far you may want to travel if you are looking for a particular item. Usually you need to start off by placing an offer. Example: OFFER: Boys bike, blue, size 18 wheels. East Norriton. Or you can place a request. Example: WANTED: mens jeans, size 34X30. East Norriton
