Accomplishments
We've still a young group but we already have the following accomplishments:- Sponsored and organized forum for candidates running for School Board in the Primary Election in May 2009. This forum provided voters with more information to make informed decisions at the polls. For more about this forum and other election news go here.
- Publication of first ENRO Newsletter: EAST NORRITON WATCH. Distributed to every household in the township. Read it here.
- Closing date for Woodys has been delayed from Dec 2008 to Jan 2010.
- Agendas for upcoming EN Township Planning Commission and Zoning Hearing Board meetings are now posted on the Township's website due to ENRO questions. See them on the calendar.
- We're attending township meetings and asking questions. Come and participate!
for coming to the important Planning Commission meeting Sep 17 !!
The room was OVERFLOWING!
YOU MADE A BIG DIFFERENCE!!!
Therefore, ZHB Case #2008-10, Metropol Properties (Power House) did NOT pass.
The Planning Commission denied the developer's request for waivers and variances for their proposed development on the Power House corner on Township Line Rd and DeKalb (across Township Line Rd from the CVS). The problems included huge traffic flow issues and ownership of access routes. The Planning Commissioners were also dismayed that the developer did not thoroughly talk to neighboring residents. The room was packed full of residents - ALL passionately opposed to this development. Keith Tornetta (Chairman, Planning Commission) confirmed that as the Planning Commission is just an advisory board that can only make recommendations, the developer can still choose to go ahead to the Zoning Hearing Board. Keep watching the township website...ENRO will also watch and send out emails as we learn of any future events concerning this proposal (if any).

"Great picnic! We should do this more often!"
What a GREAT picnic! The first ever East Norriton Residents Picnic at the Farm Park on June 19 was a huge success. Attendance was double what we expected. Neighbors met and shared views on developments in the township, the draft Comprehensive Plan, and the hospital complex - here's what some said:
- "I believe the information made available to attendees and the friendliness of the hosts will aid in giving ENRO a positive presence in the community."
- "Thanks to the people who manned the food and beverage area -- free food served up by friendly people didn't hurt either."
Operating Principles
The East Norriton Residents Organization is committed to uphold the seven uncompromising values as described in the Township's Operating Principles.
We, the East Norriton Residents Organization, will:
– We cannot simply be right in our decisions; we have to look right, too.
– We will not allow a compromise in public trust.
– No amount of authority, status, or power can excuse anyone in our organization from treating another with rudeness, humiliation, or disrespect.
– We can watch silently as others act against these operating principles or we can step up and say what we see.
– Personal responsibility means doing the right thing when others aren’t.
– We freely join with colleagues across organizational and municipal boundaries to advance the interests of the community.
– We strive to treat citizens as partners with us. We not only listen to them, we seek their input.
– Not only must we model these behaviors, we must coach others to adopt them.
– We will strive to be known as the best township government, based on what the community says about its township and what our employees say about their workplace.
– The reputation is built by the small, daily acts of each employee in how we treat citizens and how we treat each other.

While we will uphold the entire text of the Operating Principles, only excerpts have been reproduced here for brevity's sake.
